Mogadishu – (warsoor)-Somali National Army’s Commandos Division has on Wednesday carried out special operation at Cel-Timir location near Galcad town in Galgudud region killing 15 Al-Shabaab militants and recovering weapons, officials said.
District Commissioner of Galcad town, Qadar Muhumed Ali confirmed Somali National News Agency that the operation was targeted senior Al-Shabab militants hiding in areas close to the town.
“The Commandos killed 15 militants in this special operation, Ahmed Id and Muhumed Abdullahi Gafow were senior Shabaab commanders for collecting tax and assassinations, the forces also recovered weapons and large amount of ammunitions during the operation”, Mr. Muhumed said.
The Commandos division carried out another operation at Toro-torey village in lower Shabelle region southern Somalia where the terrorist militants of Al-Shabab were targeted.
