A Strange Religion but not truely Islamic Religion

Chams or Bani community claim that they are Muslim community,  despite of that they are allow to eat pork, they are allow to drink alcohol, symbol of yin and yang is at the door of their building and have a design of Chinese dragon at the door of building. They can’t read Quran. They don’t have prayers of 5 times they don’t fast in a Islamic way. They smoke cigarette in a mosque.  They bow down and pray food .Their cap have a Nazis sign. Here we can conclude that they don’t follow the real ISLAM religion. They are mix of different religions and cultures.” THE TITLE OF THIS DOCUMENTARY SHOULD NOT BE A STRANG ISLAM.  It should be “A STRANGE RELIGION”.  Without any doubt, apart from this what they are doing is totally against the (ISLAMIC RELIGION). Their religion is a mixture of Indian, Chinese, Cambodian and Vietnamese civilizations based practice. So it’s not a strange “ISLAM” it’s A STRANGE RELIGION. The author of this documentary movie is confused by himself that’s why rather giving a name of A STRANGE RELIGION.  HE CALLED IT” A STRANGE ISLAM”. Very funny.

The Chams, or Cham people Vietnamese are an ethnic group of Austronesian origin in Southeast Asia. Their contemporary population, a diaspora is concentrated between the Kampong Cham Province in Cambodia and Phan Rang–Tháp Chàm, Phan Thiết, Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang Province in Southern Vietnam. An additional 4,000 Chams live in Bangkok, Thailand, who had migrated during Rama I’s reign. Recent immigrants are mainly students and workers, who preferably seek work and education in the southern Islamic Pattani, Narathiwat, Yala, and Songkhla provinces. A large Cham diaspora also established in Malaysia following the turbulence during the Pol Pot regime, where they were quickly assimilated with the local Malay population. Cham people represent the core of the Muslim communities in both Cambodia and Vietnam.

The majority of Cham in Vietnam (also known as the Eastern Cham) are Hindu while their Cambodian counterparts are largely Muslim.  A small number of the Eastern Cham also follow Islam and to a lesser degree Mahayana Buddhism. A number immigrated to France in the late 1960s during the Vietnam War.

The majority (88%) of Chams who reside in Cambodia are Muslim, as are the Utsul of Hainan. The isolation of Cham Muslims in central Vietnam resulted in an increased syncretism with Buddhism until recent restoration of contacts with other global Muslim communities in Vietnamese cities.
